WWE presents Summerslam August 18, 2013
Huge pyro begins the show as we zoom around the sold out Staples Center! We cut to the announce booth where Jerry Lawler, Michael Cole and JBL welcome us to the show. They run down the match card and highlight the big matches which include an Inferno Match and the WWE championship match! We cut to the ring where Justin Roberts is standing.
The viewers at home are treated to a great match to open the show for the United States Championship. It was Dean Ambrose taking on Kofi Kingston. Both men tore down the house and Kingston was very close on many occasions to snagging the US title but in the end it was Ambrose that won after a headlock driver. Ambrose retains the United States championship.
This match was followed up by a quick interview in the back with Daniel Bryan. He told us that he is ready to take his career to the next level and that he is ready to bceome the WWE champion and that tonight he promises to make John Cena tap out!
Back in the arena, the feud between Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes heated up as they went one on one. The match is relatively even between these two great talents. Sandow took the upperhand halfway through the match and never looked back. He managed to score the victory after hitting Terminus for the pinfall.
This match is followed by the Divas Summer Fun Battle Royal. It's just a brawl that nobody seems to be paying attention to with eliminations coming relatively fast. In the end it's down to Layla, Kaitlyn, Natalya and Tamina Snuka. The four go at it and Layla is eliminated by Tamina. Kaitlyn takes out Natalya and is quickly eliminated by Tamina. Tamina Snuka has earned herself a shot at the Divas title tomorrow night on Raw!
The highly anticipated matchup between Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston is up next. Langston controlled the entire match by throwing Ziggler around like he's a rag doll. Ziggler attempts to fight his way back into the match but AJ Lee grabs his leg allowing Langston to take advantage and hit him with the Big Ending for the pinfall.
A video package is shown which highlights the feud between Kane and Bray Wyatt. It shows The Wyatt Family's debut and Kane announcing the Inferno Match.
Back in the arena, Kane and Bray Wyatt have entered the ring and the referees turn the fire up. This match is very long and drawn out with not many big spots. Kane is almost set on fire multiple times but fights out of it. Wyatt is almost set on fire about the same about of times. In the end, Wyatt hits Kane with Sister Abigail and lights him on fire for the victory.
This match is followed up by the fast paced World Heavyweight Championship match between champion Alberto Del Rio and Christian. Del Rio looks to be closing in on another successful title defense but Christian is able to fight out of the cross armbreaker and he manages to hit Del Rio with the Killswitch for the pinfall and the World Heavyweight Championship!
A pre-taped interview with Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar is shown. Heyman says that after Summerslam, Lesnar is putting the entire WWE on notice and that CM Punk will no longer be a factor.
Back in the arena, Brock Lesnar and CM Punk face off in a match of epic proportions. It is back and forth throughout until Heyman gets involved and Lesnar takes control with various suplexes. Lesnar goes for the F-5 but Punk escapes! Punk manages to hit the GTS but Lesnar kicks out! The two begin brawling yet again but in the end it is Lesnar who nails the F-5 on Punk to get the pinfall.
In the main event of the evening, it is John Cena defending the WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan. Cena holds the upperhand throughout most of the match but Bryan fights his way back in. Bryan hits multiple kicks to Cena and proceeds to also hits a bunch of suplexes. He grabs Cena and locks in the Yes! Lock! Cena struggles and and tries to hardest not to tap out but eventually succumbs and taps. Bryan and the crowd begin chanting YES! YES! YES! as Daniel Bryan is handed the WWE Championship. Confettis falls from the ceiling as the fans and Bryan continue chanting Yes! and the PPV fades off the air.

Nice PPV there. Glad to see two boring champions go to two deserving champions in Christian and Bryan. Wyatt winning the Inferno match was to be expected, as was Ambrose retaining the US Title. I woulda had Ziggler get more offense than you said he did in his match. Losing in such a way is not a good thing for Ziggler, especially to Langston, but I'm confident you have a plan with this. Surprised to see Tamina win the Battle Royal. Pretty good PPV overall.

He tells Sandow that he once held that exact briefcase and cashed it in for the WWE Championship 2 years ago. Sandow interrupts him by saying that he will pick his spot and he will defeat anyone. Great first week of shows, Joey. Good to see there's some time being put into the tag team division. Interested to see where Hunico and Camacho will go. Big fan of Cody and I like how he's on the chase for the World Title. Interested to see how Lesnar's gonna bounce back from that big defeat on RAW. Keep it up, Joey!
