MONDAY NIGHT RAWJuly 29nd 2013 “We're Here!”
-- Monday Night RAW opens with a panel of judges and Mr. McMahon standing in the ring. Triple H, The Miz and Stephanie McMahon sit at the table, watching McMahon as he brings out Vickie Guerrero and Brad Maddox, both of the two who are in the run for General Manager of RAW. McMahon announces that these past two weeks, these panel of judges have been watching and tonight a decision will be made. McMahon asks Vickie first why she should be chosen. She states that shes been a part of the WWE for all her life and being named the General Manager of RAW would be the ideal job for her. He asks the same question to Maddox who states that i'd be an opportunity like no other and he has the qualifications. McMahon then sits and Triple H, The Miz and Stephanie each get to ask one questions. Stephanie asks what there main event of the evening would be? Vickie Guerrero states that Randy Orton and Chris Jericho would face Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Maddox however, disagrees and states that Rollins should face Jericho while Cena face Roman Reigns in the Main Event. Triple H then asks what the opening bout of the night would be. Vickie Guerrero states that she would put a returning Kofi Kingston in action. Brad Maddox states that he would place the fast pacing styles of Sin Cara in action. The Miz finally states that something big needs to be announced, so tell him what that thing would be. Vickie states that if she is General Manager, we will have a HUGE Main Event next week! The Miz cuts her off and states that next week shouldn't count, because we're talking about this week! Maddox then says that tonight Cody Rhodes will face Damien Sandow and the winner will face Christian on Smackdown, if the Chairman agrees of course as he is in charge tonight and Friday. If the said Superstar can beat Christian, then they get to face him at Summer Slam for the Money in the Bank Briefcase. The Miz thanks the two and sits back down at the table. The judges write down their decisions as Ryback's music hits. Ryback comes down to the ring and says that Vickie deserves to be put in-charge because she knows what she is doing. Ryback says that she knows who to be placed in a title picture. Triple H then rises and states that if Ryback loves how Vickie books that Vickie should place him in a match tonight. Vickie panics and states that tonight, Kane will face Ryback! Ryback nods his head and states that this is a prime example as he will destroy Kane. McMahon then rises and states that this is his ring and his company and Brad Maddox is the NEW GENERAL MANAGER OF MONDAY NIGHT RAW! Vickie begins to scream but Ryback carries her out of the ring and to the back. The judges shake hands with Maddox as McMahon says that Maddox better not make McMahon regret his decision.
-- Kofi Kingston defeated Sin Cara in our opening contest. Both Superstars put on a great show, but the returning Kofi Kingston, sporting a new look was able to catch Sin Cara off guard with a Trouble in Paradise getting the win. After the match, the two men shook hands in a sign of respect.
-- Backstage, Brad Maddox and Mr. McMahon are sitting on the couch of the GM office. Maddox thanks Mr. McMahon and Vince informs Maddox once again to make sure he doesn't make Vince regret it. Maddox says that he won't! Ryback then barges in and claims that McMahon made the wrong decision. Maddox then rises and defends himself, saying that McMahon made the right decision and that Maddox knows what he's doing and that's why, tonight Ryback will still be in action with Kane! Ryback shakes his head as Maddox informs him the match is next. Ryback says that it's fine, but Vickie is going to be in his corner. Maddox smirks as he sits. McMahon compliments Maddox on how he handled the situation.
-- Kane defeated Ryback in Singles Action. Vickie Guerrero sat at the announcers table and claimed McMahon and his judges were wrong. She was 100% behind Ryback however. After the bout, Kane got frustrated and slammed Ryback down with a Choke Slam as he won the bout with a roll up after Ryback ran into the ring post. Suddenly, the lights went out as 'We're Here!' echoed through the arena. The lights returned and The Wyatts were in the ring. Bray Wyatt sat in his rocking chair watching on as Luke Harper and Erick Rowan dismantled Kane. Suddenly, Daniel Bryan's music hits and the fans start to chant 'YES!' Bryan flies down the ramp and tips Wyatt before entering the ring. Rowan escapes the ring but Bryan fires boots into Harper before Harper can escape. The two help up Bray Wyatt as Bryan checks on Kane.
-- Backstage, Renee Young interviews CM Punk. Punk is cheered by the fans. Punk thanks Mr. McMahon for giving him a steel cage match tonight with Curtis Axel! He says that he is going to destroy Axel and move on to his next challenge in getting his hands on the slime himself, Paul Heyman. Renee asks how Punk is going to do it, and Punk states that after he beats Axel tonight, he has a challenge for Paul that he knows, Paul won't refuse.
-- Kane and Daniel Bryan are then seen talking backstage. Kane thanks Bryan for the save tonight and says that if Bray Wyatt wants to dance, than Kane will show him pain. Bryan nods his head as suddenly, Brad Maddox enters between them. Maddox announces that he was just talking to the sketchy Wyatt Family. He shivers before continuing. Maddox states that Wyatt has requested a bout tonight, Daniel Bryan versus Luke Harper. Bryan accepts and Kane states he will be in Bryan's corner.
-- The Rock returns to Monday Night RAW and comes down to the ring as the fans bow and chant his name. The Rock thanks the crowd before stating that he sat at home, heeling after the Worlds Strongest Slam he suffered two weeks ago, and he re-watched exactly what Henry did to him. Over and over again, The Rock watched Henry announce the challenge. The Rock says that there can only be one conclusion to this. Mark Henry then comes out, interrupting The Rock! Henry says that if The Rock declines, Henry is going to crush him here tonight. He says that if he does accept, Henry is going to crush him at Summer Slam and finally make The Rock retire, so either way it's a lose-lose for The Rock. The Rock raises an eyebrow before stating that at Summer Slam, The Rock is going to LAY THE SMACK-IEE-DOWN on Mark Henry and at the end of the night, it's Henry who is going to be retiring. Henry chuckles at The Rock stating that at Summer Slam, The Rock will enter the Hall of Pain. Because that's what Henry does! Henry then swings for a blow to take out The Rock, but Rocky ducks the blow and is able to take down Henry with a massive Rock Bottom leaving the fans exploding with cheers with a sneak peek for what is going to come at Summer Slam!
-- Brad Maddox is leaning against the wall, talking to the beautiful Summer Rae about having her in action here tonight. Clearly, they're flirting until Curtis Axel and Heyman approach. Heyman tells Summer to get lost and she does so. Heyman states that Curtis Axel refuses to face CM Punk here tonight in a cage match. It's horrible. Axel won't do it. Before Maddox can even speak, a hand is planted on the back of Heyman. Mr. McMahon approaches and states that the match is going to be huge! It's great for business! McMahon asks Heyman if he has a problem with it and Heyman states no. Maddox smirks and chuckles as Heyman turns to storm off. McMahon then stops Heyman quickly and informs him that tonight he is banned from ringside! Heyman gets angry and walks off.
-- Reach for the Stars. Summer Slam! Join us on August 18th for the Biggest Party of the Summer!
-- Summer Rae with Fandango defeated AJ Lee with Big E Langston in a Non-Title Match! Summer Rae was able to get the win after Kaitlyn walked out during the bout and announced that her man was here tonight! AJ would become distracted and looked on as Dolph Ziggler himself, walked out from the back. Kaitlyn leaped into his arms and wrapped her legs around Ziggler as the two began to kiss. AJ became furious giving Summer an opening to roll up AJ getting the three count! After the bout, Summer and Fandango danced up the ramp as Langston tried to calm down AJ, as she screamed at Ziggler and Kaitlyn who held hands and walked off.
-- Cody Rhodes versus Damien Sandow went to a No Contest after both men brawled out of the ring, allowing the referee to count a double count out. The two men would brawl all around the ring until Christian came out from the back, trying to break it. Sandow would shove Rhodes into Christian and leave through the crowd. Rhodes and Christian would stare down in the ring after, only for The Miz to come out from the back. The Miz announced that via a decision of Mr. McMahon. On Smackdown, Rhodes and Christian will face Damien Sandow and a partner of his choice.
-- Seth Rollins versus Chris Jericho went to a No Contest when a brawl began in the ring. Roman Reigns, who along with Dean Ambrose was sitting ringside, looked to take out Jericho, helping his tag team partner in the process. Reigns would go for a spear on Jericho, but The Viper himself, would enter the ring and take down Reigns before he had the chance. Dean Ambrose would then there a ring, and help his team mates fend off Randy Orton and Chris Jericho but The Miz would hit the ring to even the numbers. Eventually, thing spun out of control and spilled to the outside where The Miz and Ambrose would battle through the crowd. Randy Orton would look for an RKO on Seth Rollins, but Reigns would be able to pull him out of the ring escaping. The Shield would snag Ambrose away from The Miz and escape to the back as the trio regrouped in the ring, staring down The Shield.
-- Wade Barrett and Fandango are speaking backstage as Summer Rae approaches. Barrett compliments her as Fandango goes off on her, frustrated. Eventually, Summer Rae walks away, leaving the men to speak. Fandango states that he is of Rob Van Dam, coming back to the WWE and acting like he owned the place. Barrett says on Smackdown the duo need to teach him a lesson. Fandango agrees and they agree to ask The Chairman for a match on Smackdown!
-- Backstage, Paul Heyman and Axel are preping for what is about to go down. The cage is shown being lowered as in the split screen, Heyman tells Axel that 'The Beast' is on standby.
-- CM Punk defeated Curtis Axel in a Steel Cage Match after brutally assaulting the Intercontinental Champion. CM Punk unloaded into Curtis Axel before hitting him with one final GTS and escaping the cage! The fans exploded as Paul Heyman would rush down to the ring to help his client, only for Punk to chase Heyman around the ring. Heyman would enter the ring and ask for the cage to be lowered, but Punk would make the cut and enter the ring before the cage closed. With Heyman backed into the wall, Punk instead asked - no, demanded - a match with Brock Lesnar at Summer Slam, claiming that not only Heyman is in his sights, but ever since Money in the Bank, Lesnar has been sitting in that spot. Punk backs Heyman into the corner demanding the bout as Lesnar emerged from the back accepting the challenge of CM Punk! Punk would nod his head in approval before hoisting Heyman up for a GTS. Curtis Axel however would make it to his feet as the cage began to raise. Heyman would escape as Curtis and Punk traded blows. The Beast would enter the ring as Punk sent Axel out of the ring. Punk would turn around to a vicious F5 from Brock Lesnar, leaving The Best in the World out on the mat.
-- Daniel Bryan defeated Luke Harper in one on one action after rolling up the stranger Superstar, scoring a pinfall. Bryan would deliver a set of kicks but would miss his final shot as Harper looked to capitalize. However, Bryan would reverse the reversal of Harper and roll him up for a three count. After the match, Erick Rowan would enter the ring looking to help out his fellow brother along side Bray Wyatt. Wyatt demanded for a beatdown to begin, but instead flames would emerge the arena as the lights cut. When they returned, Kane was in the middle of the ring! Kane would fire blows into Rowan as Wyatt escaped the ring, rejoining his rocking chair at ringside. Wyatt would slowly move in and drag Harper out of the ring as Kane delivered a choke slam to Erick Rowan. The Wyatt Family would haul Rowan out of the ring as Team Hell No stood tall. This would bring Brad Maddox on the titantron, broadcasting from the General Manager's office. Maddox announced two more major matches for Summer Slam! The Pre-Show will feature a 10-Man Gauntlet Match for the Intercontinental Championship! Curtis Axel will defend against possibly 9 other men! Also, regarding what just happened .. -- Roman Reigns defeated John Cena in Non-Title Action. Reigns was able to get the win on the WWE Champion when the lights cut during the closing moments of the match and when they returned Cena was out on the mat and Reigns was sitting against the turnbuckle. Reigns would rise and stalk Cena and finally when he rose, Reigns would deliver a spear to the Champ to take him out! After the match, the rest of The Shield members would join Reigns in the ring to dismantle The Champion, however this would bring Randy Orton, Chris Jericho and The Miz from the back. The trio would hit the ring and attempt to take out The Shield. However, The Shield would escape before anything possible could happen, outwitting the trio. The Shield raised their titles high in the air as the trio helped Cena to his feet. The four Superstars in the ring would stare down with The Shield.
